what to do

I always find myself mentally taking notes (or photos from the internet ha) of things I want to do/plan to do/cant wait to do. Sooo I thought i'd share a few things :) Maybe you'll get inspired too and add some of these to your list!

1. Use picture frames as Jewelry holding decor! Cute idea right?

2. Go on an African safari. 

3. Collect vintage cameras and use it as home decoration. 

4. Incorporate more bows into my life!

5. Take more photos.

5. Go to Paris.

6. Have fun with my nail choices. I already do this but I haven't tried this one yet.. hombre nails! 

7. Have a home where I can set up my backyard like this perfect mini oasis!!

I feel like I have been such a terrible blogger lately! Usually I am pretty good at documenting my whereabouts but i've been so all over the place lately I have been lagging in that department. So to try to make up for it these im posting all the outtakes of photos over the past year that never made the shoelosophy cut. Tonight I'm going to opening night of circus soleil in Miami, hopefully to get some inspiration for Fall 2012!

The biggest reward is giving back

Peace for the Children is a foundation started by Donald J. Pliner and Lisa Pliner. This summer they funded a summer camp for underprivileged kids who are all in foster homes. They were able take art classes and learned how to play instruments. Yesterday they put on a performance and showcased their bright & colorful artwork for all of us. To the kids surprise, Donald announced that they could all personally keep the instruments they learned to play this summer! I never expected to have a sense of reward in the simple act of giving back!

Lisa Pliner walks the runway at Nicolita

                             

Last night Lisa Pliner walked the runway at the Nicolita show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2012. All of the models including actress Adrienne Bailon and Real Housewife of Miami Adriana DeMoura wore shoes by Lisa for Donald J. Pliner. The bathingsuits were fun with lots of bright colors, stripes, bows and some subtle sparkle. 

I think it's safe to say that Lisa stole the show! Having a total Carrie Bradshaw moment (minus the falling and becoming Heidi Klums fashion roadkill) she strutted her stuff down the runway and worked the crowd. Does anyone else have a cooler boss then I do?

My travel essentials

                 

 

If you know me at all, you know that I travel a lot! Today I just landed in New York and tomorrow I will be off to Miami. These series of trips have inspired me to list my top 9 travel essentials that I always carry with me on the plane. 

1. Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Anti-Bacterial Sanitizing hand gel. I am not usually a germ-a-phob but when it comes to planes and close quarters with tons of strangers.. this is a must. I like to use this one from Bath and Body works cause it smells so yummy!

2. Evian facial spray. This one is new addition for me.. Chad's Mom introduced it to me and I don't know why I didn't carry it around sooner! One spritz and you feel refreshed and rejuvenated! If your on a long flight or changing timezones this is a goodie. 

3. Nivea Creme 1oz tin. Its the perfect size to slip into your purse and get through security with no problem. Flying makes my skin dry and this cream is extra thick and moisturizing.

4. Oversized hooded sweater. I always like to bring a cozy hoodie on board to keep me warm on those drafty planes and cover my eyes from those bright lights.

5. Colgate Wisps. So handy if your on a long flight! Its like a tiny little disposable toothbrush that you use once and throw away!

6. A good book. When I get tired of watching movies a book is a good distraction to pass the time. One I recently just finished is Water for Elephants. 

7.  Longchamp large tote. This tote is so versatile it can fit almost everything in it making it a perfect carry on. It also conveniently folds up and comes in lots of fun colors.

8. Burts Bees Lip Balm. My go-to chapstick. It works!

9. Ipod, Iphone, Ipad, basically the whole apple family... Bring it!
